Research why the great American Writer John Steinbeck wanted his name taken off the film, Lifeboat when it was first released.
In an essay report, tell me why Mr. Steinbeck, whose name was a big selling point at the time, (just as big if not bigger than Hitchcock, especially in America) why did this writer choose to exercise his power in such a way to have his name removed knowing just the request itself would call attention to a negative aspect or discourse in the filmmaking process?
In your report tell me what was Steinbeck's intention by removing his name and why did he later change his mind?
Do you agree or disagree with his thinking? Would you consider a writer like this a difficult person to work with and as a producer how would you deal with this type of situation?
