A strong sense of identity among children can be observed through their act of self-awareness, belonging, confidence & autonomy, and values & beliefs. A child's growth in self-awareness, confidence, and belonging is the foundation of the idea that they have a strong sense of who they are. Children who possess a strong sense of identity are more equipped to deal with the social, cultural, and emotional facets of life and feel safe in their own skin (Vouros, 2021).
