In the past three years, students have increasingly arrived at Eton with multiple devices, such as, at least a laptop, tablet, and smartphone, and they expect a robust wireless network. However, delivering high-quality Wi-Fi across many different environments on campus is challenging. Students and teaching staff need reliable connections in the boarding houses, because each boy has his own room, the number of rooms, walls, and doors make it difficult to deliver uniformly good coverage and high capacity. Based on your comprehension of the case study analyse the scenario and simulate the the proposed wired and wireless network solution for ETON COLEGE in CISCO packet tracer. Introduction: - In the world, internet plays a very important role in todays’ communication world. It is playing in the market one of the major role where user can share share, retrieve, sell or exchange foods, ideas, and services within a second. Now, Wi-Fi is one of networking products as per the industry standards which is designated as Wire
less Fidelity. It enables network users like laptop, PC’s mobile devices where they can connect any time within the campus boundary with certain level of access parameter. Its major advantage is that it can work without any kind of cable, or wires attached and it is absolutely freedom service. Second advantage of Wi-Fi is that its availability in the market is very demanding till now and most of the organizations, schools, colleges, hospitals are all using Wi-Fi services. It also helps people to get access Wi-Fi, should available in the hotspot and without losing network connection.
Hypothesis- On further investigation and found a tentative idea that low connection speed will no longer be an issue with Wi-Fi as there is more dedicated speed in Wi-Fi.
Advantages – It improves the quality of delivery of education as students and teachers both can able to access teaching materials instantly. Secondly, parents, teachers and students can able to communicate through IP Communication tool.
Disadvantages – Main disadvantage of Wi-Fi when using Wi-Fi connection, users has the option to choose an access point which is not close to the devices because an interruption will occur and as a result it may loss of signal or quality issue of connection.
Project Scope- This project will describe a wireless network review on different buildings and by basis of buildings across the campus, it will determine the further extension on wireless access point in different staff areas. This project will also provide a concrete solution by keeping IT Infrastructure cost or budget in mind, where the cost of cabling, installation of access points, hardware’s etc.
Challenges and Constraints- For doing this project, various risk mitigations may occur during the project execution which are as follows
Budget- Project can be done in terms of specific budget and now it may happen if the cable installation reduced as per requirement for IT Infrastructure. It will be responsible to particular individual person of college who has assigned the budgetary cost of this project.
Cabling Installation in College buildings- Time schedule may run depending on the time sheet confirmed for cable installation. Here responsible teams are service and network team.
Density – Each and every user in colleges for different areas like lecture halls, auditoriums, faculty or guest areas will be accessing campus Wi-Fi network, so we need to design in such a way Wi-Fi should capable a robust, seamless and high availability signals with quality which works uniformly in the access points.
Performance need to be monitored- Wi-Fi network is dynamic in nature and need to monitor the performance frequently, so that quality of network or signals should not be detoriate which may result poor connectivity faced by the students, teachers, staff, sub- staff etc.
User-Centric design concept- The design of user-centric wireless network resides a type of outcome boundaries. Basically internet majorly depends on locations of SPs (such as ISPs, ASPs, VO) , of Network-Access providers as well as the Internet-facing users on customer premises.
