Report format 1/ Background (10 marks) This section should give an updated overview/background of the latest NSW (Sydney) metropolitan water plan (2010). Discuss about the current water situation in Sydney including key initiatives to ensure water security.
2/ Community views on acceptance of seawater desalination and wastewater reuse for drinking (60 marks) You should document/review current understandings/knowledge towards the public acceptance of using seawater desalination and wastewater reuse for drinking based on previous and recent studies/literature. Cite some recent statistics and developments in technologies that affect the perception of community in desalination and wastewater reuse. Include information from recent research articles, news items, and detailed comparison between the two approaches. This should identify the key issues that need to be addressed and the potential implications of the choices.
3/ Community engagement strategy (30 marks) You should propose a community engagement strategy for adoption of wastewater reuse and desalination for drinking, and briefly compare differences/similarities in strategy. This must identify targeted stakeholders, and what community engagement techniques will be used (eg stakeholder surveys, information days, issue paper). You can include results/comments from your own Informal survey by interviewing some people around you about their opinions. Discuss how the engagement study may differ depending on the option chosen and your choice of engagement methods.
