My results of the high five test showed that I was a coach, philomath, self-believer, empathizer, and optimist (SIA DiGo&Co. n.d.). . I agree with the results as I can see how they align with who I am as a leader. I was conducting training today, and during the training, I was secretly interviewing new employees for other positions. I had an individual with who I saw the potential to be a trainer. I thought she would be great in the position because she can teach others and communicate in a way that brings understanding.
I have used learning as a coping skill since middle school, and I'm always learning something yet switching to the next exciting thing, which brings forth an understanding of why I enjoy working in a field where every day is different. I have been through so many trials over my life, especially within the last few years, in which I have the mindset that I'll overcome anything. I am a self-believer because I'm self-motivated and willing to take on new challenges. An example of being a self-believer is that today I accepted the offer of being a Juvenile justice director.
I feel my decision was right, and I'm willing to grow through any ups and downs. I'm always looking at someone else's perspective regarding different life events and ideas. I see myself as an optimist. I do my best to stay consistent and fair when dealing with others, especially within my career, so I can agree that I'm an empathizer. I love positivity and smiling, which creates an atmosphere of change. I can please everyone around me, and I'm okay with not being liked by some. Yet, I'm grateful for others who share the same common positivity, which helps build an atmosphere where individuals can work together. I was reading an article where the author described the effects of being self-aware of who you are as a person and how being authentic can create powerful leadership abilities. Genuine leaders are self-aware; they recognize the strength and weaknesses of others and are willing to change and be who they are in service to others (Metcalf,2014).
Thanks,
Renalta

Marcus,
Good evening. Great post and elaboration on what a personality test is and how it makes us. Who we are and how much we develop and grow has a lot to do with our personality. Our personality makes up who we are and who associate with on a regular basis. You made an interesting point, how many different types of personality test have you taken if you can recall? Also, have you learned something new about yourself each time? What taught you something that you didn’t know? I look forward to your response. Have a great evening.
