The graph in Figure 1.51 shows the time T , in hours, that it appears to a stationary observer to take an hourglass to empty if it is on a rocket ship moving at a given percentage r, as a decimal, of the speed of light.
a. Use the graph to estimate the value of T (0.6) and explain in practical terms what it means.
b. Is the graph concave up or concave down?
c. Does a small change in velocity cause a greater change in apparent time at slower speeds or at faster speeds?
