Reflections on the experience of bereavement. Recall a personal experience of bereavement, whether the loss of a loved one or that of a friend. Then describe your experience in a page or so. To what extent did your experience include the grief work process described in the chapter? In what ways was your experience unique? Finally, how has your experience of grief affected your life? Has it made you more cautious and, perhaps, bitter toward life? Or has it eventually become “good grief,” leading you to make the most of life and to reach out to others in a more meaningful way?
