ion behind this paper is to analyze grand strategies devised by Amazon to increase
concentration, global market development, and product innovation and development, in the long
run. First, we will understand and identify how Amazon increases its market concentration by
increasing rate of use of current customers, and by snatching away customers from competitors.
Second, we will look into market development strategies utilized by Amazon to enter additional
geographic markets, and attracting other target market segments. Finally, we will analyze new
product development initiatives undertaken by Amazon towards developing new and innovative
product features.
Amazon – concentration strategies
Grand strategies are comprehensive and detailed, long term plan of key initiatives through which
an organization plans to achieve its major goals and objectives. Concentration, is a growth
strategy formulated by the organizations to concentrate and focus on a single market or product.
In this portion we will focus on how Amazon increases the rate of use of current customers and
is able to attract customers from its competitors.
To increase the current customers' rate of use, Amazon developed a customer centric website
with ease of use, speedy and accurate search outcomes, low selection price, timely customer
service, and speedy and reliable order fulfillment. All these features coupled with ease of access
