Introduction
Maya Angelou was one of the most i
nfluential voices of the time when USA was a favourite by the Civil rights movement during the layer half of the 20th century. She is known for her extra ordinary career as a singer, dancer, actress, composer and Hollywood first female black director. Maya was and educated who served as the professor in Reynolds professor of American studies at Wake Forest University. She has been one of the most influential figures in the Civil rights Movement in her actions and through her literature. Her life experience and courage help others that was not only influential by her heart shape that shaped her into the person as everyone remembers her today.
The Historic Figure
At the age of 8 Maya Angelou was sexually abused by her mother's boyfriend. And it was the beginning when she learned the power that was possess. At a very early age she got involved in drugs and prostitution but by the stroke of her luck she got involved in a theatre group. From her biography it is clear that she had led many lives and is best known as a writer and poetry. As a civil right activist, she worked closely with Malcolm X.
In the year 1971 she released her first collection of poems which she read on Bill Clinton's inauguration in 1993. Maya advocated for progress and creating equal opportunities for black people in America throughout her lifetime. She has been one of the most influential faces of the Civil rights activists along with Malcom X and Martin Luther King Junior. Her works have resonated with people from all ages and all backgrounds across the globe such that she was able to accomplish and experience so much in her lifetime (TOTAWAD). 
In 1960 her recognition was expressed in the anti-apartheid movement and became the only women editor of the Arab Observer newspaper. Her influence in the women's rights movement and marriage equality was also pronounced.
