Good morning all
The researchers examined the potential link between high patient turnover rates and appropriate nurse staffing, as established by a specified "target level," and patient mortality. While the authors of this study sought to answer similar fundamental questions to those of a previous study, they also sought to address some limitations of that study and determine whether or not their observation was correct and whether or not the relationship between patient safety and nurse staffing level had been attributable to changes between health facilities rather than to any inherent relationship between the two. Overall, the goal of the researchers in this most recent study was to provide further proof for the hypothesis that nurse staffing levels are correlated with patient death.
