Ans1. The Home Care Service was founded in the year 1970s because of the societal attention toward the hospital staff
to care for elderly. A thorough evaluation of the values which are practised by HCS employees brings out the existence of various subcultures. The prominent subcultural value system is of medical and healthcare employees. This is because they have the position that can easily influence others within the organisation. For instance, the allied professionals of healthcare are largely case managers and geriatricians who perhaps work part-time at HCS (Ashkanasy, N., Wilderom, C., & Peterson, M., 2000).
Ans2. Well, Boglarsky and Kwantes in 2004 had suggested that the formation of subcultures in the organisation is primarily based on the difference of functions as well as departments, occupation, gender and various hierarchical differences (Bradley, L., & Parker, R., 2000). With reference to HCS, there are different subcultures which recommends natural formation of group based on different occupations like therapists, geriatricians and social workers as well as paramedical assignment. Although all of them are working in healthcare domain but speciality of each role is different that develops a formation of sub-culture.
Ans3 Yes, indeed there is an organisational culture which overall express the mission of HCS and what are essential values the members of its organisation should inculcate to reflect as one part of system.
