Introduction
The myth 5 says that execution of the strategies should not be driven from the top which
may boost the performance of the org
anization during the short duration but in the term it would
hamper the capacity of the organization to attain goals in the long run. It leads to escalation of
conflicts as over indulgence from the management reduces the capacity to resolve the problems
in the team rather than providing a conclusive solution in the benefit of all. Managers should
leave few decisions over team members and employees also so that they can contribute towards
initiatives for making critical decisions. The guidance of the critical decisions should be initiated
from the top but the execution of the strategies need to done from the middle management as
they are more close to the employees. In case of Apple’s execution strategy, it constantly works
toward bringing innovation in its products and this was well supported from the top executives
through its distributed leaders. Sometimes, these distributed leaders act as hurdles in successful
translation of the company’s strategy implementation as it becomes too difficult for top
executives to keep a check over the modification of the policy reforms in favor of units of these
distributed leaders rather than working for the whole organization (Mainardi, 2011).
