Plagiarism harms writers, readers, as well as the whole journa
lism profession. I completely agree with Shafer's points regarding the detrimental consequences of plagiarism. For instance, Shafer contends that a plagiarising writer is inclined to copy errors from the work of other journalists (Shafer, 2008). As a journalist is expected to deliver original works, viewers will believe that the plagiarising writer has performed independent research on the subject whereas he has not.
