Read over the topic selection, the annotated bibliography(attachment), and the speechto an Uninformed or Apathetic Audience I made (SpeechOutline, ppt and speech script in the attachment).

Part I (main part):Write a speech script(instead of a note) which includes every single word you gonna say in the presentation. (After you make the PowerPoint slide show, please add marks into the script that shows the part related to the slides)

For this assignment, you will be speaking to a sympathetic audience (one that already agrees with your basic premises). The overall goal of this speech is to convince your audience to act on the beliefs they already hold by using strong narratives and stories. To accomplish this, your speech must tell a story about your topic that will remind your audience why they care about it and (hopefully) convince them to act. This story should be the bulk of your speech, but it should also be backed up with facts and other credible information. Lastly, keep in mind that this type of audience is already familiar with your topic, so there is no need to teach basic facts. Instead, remind them of facts that will get them to act on the topic.

Requirements

Please, adhere to the following guidelines.

  1. Your speech must be 5-7 minutes long.

  2. Your speech must cite at least 4 of the sources from your annotated bibliography.

  3. Your speech mustexplicitlyaddress the audience at hand (identifying specific individuals, experiences group names, so on).

  4. You must be explicit about what you are persuading your audience of.

  5. Your speech must make use of a slideshow presentation.

NOTE: Please, do no recycle sections from your previous speech. You may, however, use the same sources.

Part II:

For all of your speeches in this project, you will complete a 1-2-page roman numeral outline that gives an overview of your presentation’s organization and your main points. This outline should start with full sentences and become briefer as you provide detail. As well, this outline should identify where you are using sources in your speech as well as provide a bibliography of your sources in APA style.

What Your Outline Should Include

Your outline should identify all the following components of your speech.

  1. Speech Purpose

  2. Your Target Audience (be specific)

  3. Hypothetical speech location

  4. Thesis statement.

  5. Preview of points.

  6. Transition Statements

  7. Where you are using your sources (cite parenthetically in APA style).

  8. A bibliography of your sources in APA style.

What I Do Not Want You To Do

Your outline should not be any of the following things:

  1. A verbatim manuscript.

  2. Only main points.

Part III:

For your all of your speeches in this project, you are required to create a PowerPoint slideshow to use during your presentation. These slides should guide you while you are presenting your speech as well as provide basic information to your audience. Your slides, however, should not serve as a script for your speech. That is, please do not read off your slides.

Requirements

  1. Your slide show must have at least 4 slides, not including the title slide.

  2. Your slides should cite information that you are referencing orally.

  3. Your slides should be easy to read (no colors that blend or tiny fonts).

  4. Your slides should not be overly animated.
