When I first worked with MBA students, I confined myself to conven- tional writing advice—coherent paragraphs; active voice; essays with a dis- cernible beginning, middle, and end.The advice had an impact, but not as much as I hoped. Overview of the case
Allentown Materials Corporation is one of the leading glass manufacturers across the globe. The company was founded in late 1800 in Pennsylvania. As of the given case study, it is found that in 1992, Don Roger was elected as the new vice president of the company for its electronic product division (EPD). Election was done on instant basis due to sudden death of previous VP. In this situation, along with less experience from the newly elected vice president and high competition in the market the company is planning to achieve 10% average annual growth from its EPD only (Beer, 1997). Further analysis will be discussed in the following part.
