Global challenges are observed to have short-term imp
acts and long-term impacts. Usually, the short-term impacts result in the credit crunch resulting in a banking crisis. Every global shock has a short-term impact. While in most cases, the long-term impacts demand strategic approaches so that the solutions can overcome global inequality and also global poverty. The main challenges that have the capacity to impact on the global economy for the next 50 years include the appearance of a global pandemic, weapons resulting in mass destruction and interstate war. The consequences of these challenges result in the exhaustion of the non-renewable resources with the depletion in the environmental resources due to global warming and system challenges.

In recent years, there had been several old pathogens and some of the new ones that have threatened the existence of the human population.
