An increasing amount of state sales tax revenue is being lost due to online shopping; as a result, many states want that law to change and plans are under way for a national online sales tax plan that would apply a simplified, standardized sales tax on all online, mail-order, and telephone purchases. Do you think an online sales tax plan should be enacted? If so, do you think online sales will decline? If you do not think online sales should be taxed, will other taxes need to be increased if state tax revenues continue to decline as more and more purchases are made online?
