What was your reaction? Will watching this film change your life? You may remember that your first reading from Robbins listed the following commitments (2009, page 11) as included in environmental wellness: preservation of natural resources protection of plants and wildlife recycling limiting the use of pesticides carpooling conserving electricity Donatelle (2014) uses "Overpopulation", "Air Pollution", "Land Pollution" and "Radiation" as the subtitles in her chapter on the environment. I would like to highlight the notion of the "butterfly effect"(Reynolds, 2009, p. 6). This is the phenomenon where everything that happens in our natural world, no matter how small, affects the rest of the world. We are all part of that world and when we throw our rubbish on the ground, use too much petrol, spray chemicals into the air, buy imported food etc., we are helping in a small way, the progress of climate change, and maybe contributing, for example, to the flooding of the sea water over little islands not so far away. I will allow Robbins (2009) to conclude this section: We must all take part in sustaining and improving the quality of the environment for current and future generations.
