QUESTION #1 Research in CJ
Criminological research is central to criminological theory and informs social policy formation as well as criminal justice practise (Moran & Asquith, 2020). The ability to acquire, analyse, and present empirical data is a key talent that every criminology student should possess; it is necessary for future success in the subject. The growth of criminal justice decision-making relies heavily on research evidence.
We can better study the influence of policies, initiatives, and everyday activities through well-designed and implemented research; we can "see if they work," such as if they reduce crime (Molnar, 2021). For instance, understanding the relative utility of early and developmental crime prevention measures helps assist policymakers in making better, more cost-effective decisions about where to spend public dollars for the greatest overall impact.
QUESTION #2 Reflection
Human behaviour is frequently explained by psychologists and other social scientists. The scientific method is essentially a systematic procedure that I have used to evaluate whether or not there is a relationship between two or more variables (Dolinski, 2018). I have better comprehended how researchers arrive at findings regarding human behaviour if you know the processes of the scientific method.
Criminal research aims to predict, explain, characterise, and maybe affect mental behaviours and processes (Dolinski, 2018). The scientific method is a collection of concepts and processes that I have used to draw conclusions by formulating questions after collecting evidence. I have attempted not merely to describe and explain actions, but also to generate studies that may be used to anticipate.
QUESTION #3 Short Paper: Hypothesis and Conclusion
Five Scientific Methods of Research Inquiry
The five scientific techniques, which comprise the hypothesis, conclusion, data analysis, experimentation, and question, are essential for a scientist since they allow them to produce reliable data and conclusions (Gunawan, Harjono, Hermansyah & Herayanti, 2019). It has been discovered that using these strategies is beneficial to everyone, including businesspeople, because as long as the processes are followed, a credible conclusion can be expected at the end of the day.
I believe that individuals should use this approach frequently since it ensures that one studies their ideas by testing with them, then assessing and concluding them, avoiding faked data. The hypotheses in this case might be the solution to your inquiry or the reason why your guess is accurate. It is true that it directs the experiment and must be able to be tested.
Implications to a Research Project
The test merely checks the hypothesis' validity. As a result, designing and calibrating an experiment that measures just one thing at a time is critical in order for scientists to know the exact outcome of a certain object. The most crucial component of this procedure is verifying that the experiment was performed multiple times and that the results were consistent.
It is because if they were not, the research was deemed invalid. Scientists acquire data through experiments before, during, and after an inquiry. The variables are used to demonstrate how the independent factors influenced the dependent variables (Augustyn, Ward, Krohn & Dong, 2019).
Hypothesis on Practices of Criminal Justice Practitioner
The goal of criminal justice theory is to come up with reasonable explanations for reality, which in this case is crime and criminal justice. It provides a plausible and well-informed hypothesis as to why things are the way they are, as well as an explanation for their underlying role and impact.
Theory and technique are required for good criminal justice; theory addresses why crime happens, while method collects facts and data on the nature of crime. Explanation without precise supporting evidence, or theory without technique, is just as ceremonial as procedure without theory. Both should be considered as means to an end, with the aim being a solid understanding of criminal justice (Sunde, 2020).
A hypothesis is a possible response to a query that may be tested in some way. To put a theory to the test, we must make an observation or conduct an experiment. The scientific method is almost often an iterative process, not a straight line (Augustyn et al., 2019). The outcome of one round of questioning generates feedback that helps to enhance the following round of questioning. If the hypothesis is confirmed, we may do more tests or amend it to make it more specific. For example, the next possibility...
