Ans1. In the golden words of Angela Carter, Language is power, life and the instrument of culture, the instrument of domination and liberation. In fact, I strongly believe that power of language in many ways are more literal than many people comprehend it to be. When we talk to others and even to ourselves, we all exercise the potency of language to transition thoughts in reality. Indeed, there is a huge connection between power and language. Writing, reading and speaking are critical to not just me but everyone since it is the key instrument for expression and communication. In my experience, understanding how people comprehend the use of language like which phrases and words they subconsciously select, and blend can help me better introspect and interact with others.
Language and its power help me understand why other individual behave the way they do. In my personal as well as professional life I have seen that language is largely influenced by culture, social and psychological phenomenon. What intrigues me during reflecting on language and power is that how these languages are acquired and in various ways it transforms over time.
By the virtue of this course, I learnt different ways linguists have evaluated and researched numerous aspects of language that involves semantics, phonetics, syntax, psychological, phonology as well as computational aspects. Truly, I strongly believe that language has a power that provides us with the lens to look into behavioural aspect of individual. Even the smallest variation in language can be leveraged to comprehend any biased beliefs of the speaker. Thus, language plays a pivotal role in how one understands and perceive the world. There are approximately 8000 language spoken all across the world. I agree there may be many which have similarities however, each has its own uniqueness in terms of structure, semantics and in the aspect of reflection on the particular culture of people who comprehend and speak it. Therefore, I feel it is essential to comprehend languages other than our mother tongue as well as study how they are developed over times since it provides enlighten at what is there at the very root of human foundation and ways of interacting with others.

I would have to agree that video was powerful especially because it highlights various aspects of expression and how communication with creative use of language can be moving to many people. Indeed, experience with language and its power is truly manifested in this video. With the use of plethora of words in rap by Kanye West followed by explaining the width of pringle container as well as quizzing the ingredients for a Chipotle Burrito. Yes, I agree earlier I was amused with use of multiple different kind of subject however it led to intense and deep discussion about the declining mental capacity of Burnham. Giving autotune to the rant of Kanye West that creates powerful selection of delivery of his action. As the video progress, we see the autotune being played at the back and Burnham begins to communicate about the container of Pringle and how impossible it is to get inside that container. This is extremely powerful message one can comprehend from this video since this language is used as a metaphor to explain the how difficult it is to achieve our goals. Transitioning soon to another similar rant of ordering too much at one's Chipotle, which initially was amusing and funny but slowly it changed into serious as it displayed deteriorating mental health of Burnham. Like everyone who have had fame but couldn’t handle it for instance, Kurt Cobain, Britney Spears as well as Burnham added more dramatic comprehension to his...
