QUESTION #1 ( ONE PARAGRAPH) What types of training are ideal for a psychologist to provide to a crisis negotiation team? Why is this training essential for successfully ending hostage incidents? QUESTION #2 ( 300 WORDS) Based on the podcasts and your readings this week, please post a 300-500 word response in the thread titled Research Assignment, in which you discuss and describe the reasons you believe that some police encounters with mentally ill people end poorly. While composing your response, consider how police training in working with persons with mental illness is positive not only for the mentally ill community member but for the public and the officers as well. Please address some of the specific techniques officers learn through their training and how and why they are effective.  QUESTION #3 ( ONE PARAGRAPH) It is commonly agreed that profiling exists in some form or fashion in some U.S. law enforcement agencies. Identify the causes of racial profiling. Can only Caucasian police officers profile? Explain. What must/can be done to eliminate racial profiling? Explain your answer and give examples. QUESTION #4 ( ONE PARAGRAPH) Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying, "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Today, Americans have given up significant pieces of their liberty to help ensure their security: people go through explosive sniffing machines and are not allowed to bring weapons on airplanes, have granted law enforcement the right to stop and pat people down based on less than probable cause, allow “sneak and peak” warrants and traffic light cameras, and have limitations on who can possess firearms and the types of firearms they can carry. These are all done in the name of public safety and security, and most would likely agree that they are effective. But how much liberty are you willing to give up for additional security? If the government were able to completely record, through satellites and street-level cameras, every inch of your community, so that any time a crime was committed, they could “follow” or “backtrack” the offender’s movements, and through face-recognition software, tell who he or she was, thereby significantly reducing crime, would you vote for it? This would also mean that the government would know where you went to church, who you associated with, and where you shopped. (1) Would you be willing to give up that much privacy (liberty) for added security and safety? (2) Which ethical theory do you believe would best support the government in implementing this plan? QUESTION #5 ( ONE PARAGRAPH) The chief has tasked you with preparing a crisis negotiation team for your department. She has asked you to 1. tell her the titles of each team member 2. the role of each team member 3. the type of personality you think would best fill each role. Finally, discuss whether you think that the make-up and role of your team would change if your department was the San Francisco Police Department, which has an extremely large homeless population, many of whom suffer from mental illness, or if it was the Virginia Beach Police Department, which regularly reports one of the lowest crime rates in America? Be sure to create original work and do not copy and paste. QUESTION # 6 ( 2-3 PAGES REQUIRED) Key Factors in a Successful Crisis Negotiation Adalee and Dior have been in an exclusive relationship for the past three years. Last month, Adalee asked Dior to marry her and Dior said no. Since then, Adalee has become increasingly possessive and suspicious that Dior is seeing someone else. Despite Dior’s explanation that she just isn’t ready for marriage and assurances that she isn’t interested in anyone else, Adalee has begun following her and is now convinced that Dior is having a relationship with her supervisor at work. Adalee purchased a handgun and 300 rounds of ammunition last weekend; today, she walked into Dior’s place of employment and refuses to allow Dior, her supervisor, or seven other employees go until she “gets some answers.” You are the primary negotiator on the scene for the police. So far, you have opened a line of communication with Adalee through her cell phone and she has demanded that the police stay away. She has also asked for some pizza and some beer.  What are four key factors involved in a successful crisis negotiation and how would you apply them in this case? Why do you feel they would be effective? Please respond to these questions in a 2- to 3-page paper.

Answer to Question 1
The training is essential to manage the critical situation. The crisis can be raised from different sides, and the employees have to be attentive to that. Psychological support and less nervous employees are the effective way to balance these situations. These employees help the whole work process to start again after the s crisis. The psychologist here is responsible for conducting the session to maintain those issues related to the crisis management team and their psychology (Uitdewilligen & Waller, 2018). The training is mainly based on crisis management and information gathering. The psychologist provides the team with crisis negotiation. The internal management process of the items has to be appropriate and the psychologist provides more mental stability by training them with the case studies and practical situations to develop the decision making power of each member of the crisis management team. Most of the companies provide at least a psychologist to management the mental condition and balance out the situation with the proper training as mentioned in this particular point.

The police training is based on human rights and their understanding the law of the US government is strict about this training. The mentally ill officers usually do have work on their illness. The training has multiple stages of psychological studies the psychologists usually challenge the individual officers to describe judge some of the previous files and form their response post the psychologist assume the issue.
According to the report, most police officers have been found with anger and over-aggressive issues in this case. This particular formula is one of the most prominent features; on the other hand, there are some more like the stability of implicit racial bias (James, 2018). The racial tension and the non-stable options of the officer are the indicator of the social situation, especially the situation of the black Americans.
The MST training is one of the most efficient training that police officers have to face at the joining time (van der Meulen, Bosmans, Lens, Lahlah & van der Velden, 2018). The natural effect of the particular training lasts for some of the years and usually helps the police officers in the initial stages. The training is based on the questionnaire on resilience and mental strength. The stress management training helps the officers to register themselves as safe and mentally stable to attend to their duties.
This particular training process can sometimes include the customized question, which will lead to effective changes in the training process. These training processes are based on the mental stability and acceptance power of certain police officers. Police victimization has become an issue in American society and worldwide; these issues can create changes in the mental growth of officers.
