An ethical dilemma is a situation faced by any individual or group in which an individual stands under
two conflicting moral requirements, in which choose one over the other is a very difficult task for the decision maker. It is also considered as a situation in which approx. every available choice looks wrong to the decision makers. A worst ethical dilemma a police officer can face would be the case in which they might have a knowledge regarding any illegal or objectionable activity perceiving in their department or by the members of their department. The action that should be taken here is to report any such thing prevailing in the department but the twist here is it may be regarded as betrayal from the department point of view and can be even career destroyer (Bartol & Bartol, 2017).
If I were the officer I would channelize that which of my step would be beneficial and appropriate in context of the society and environment as being a police officer I am intended towards safeguarding the rights of the society and environment. So I would be possibly opting for the option to report the misconduct prevailing in the department irrespective of my personal security.
