Putting your new knowledge to work
This project will reflect your vision of what changes the world will undergo because of the racist actions and civil rights activism we have witnessed this year. You’ll use your critical thinking to complete a photo essay.
Sometimes pictures are more impactful than words. You can gather photos from online or take photos of your own. A photo essay is generally what a slide show would look like if you included your script (the words you would say if you were presenting the slides in person) (10 pages maximum) I've included an example from a different class.
PROMPT:
What will our world look like when we finally achieve true civil rights and racial justice? and when will this be?
Some questions you might ask and try to answer include:
Will people be more distant and distrustful of each other? or will they be more caring and compassionate?
What will school and workplaces look like when we achieve racial justice?
Will hate groups still exist? What will empower them? What will counter them?
WhatSYSTEMSneed to change in order to sustain true civil rights and racial justice in the US?
And of course... you can ask and answer your own questions as well.
Your goal is to persuade us to act to achieve true civil rights and racial justice. OR... to persuade us that this is impossible.
