Purpose:  This assignment is designed to provide an opportunity to reflect on and on the process, the material and experiences in class.


Process:  Responses and activities.  Reflect on your insights, new understandings, areas of interest and confusion, questions as well as issues that may have arisen for you personally or professionally.


Draw out some essential themes from the Trauma and Counselling Unit and write a brief reflective essay on your learning journey in this unit.


Themes to be included: Explore Grief and Trauma interventions and possible personal responses.
My personal evolution, educational process, legal and ethical issues, boundaries
Reflections, explorations, counselling skills
Spirituality, culture and religion
Building a therapeutic counselling relationship with client and effective counselling.

Marking criteria: Ability to engage with and reflect meaningfully on the sessions and your responses.  30%
