a) The variation in dispersion between grades is measured by the value of standard deviation. From the table given below I observed that the standard deviation of cognitive flexibility score for grade 2, 4, 6 and 8 is approximately the same. Hence the assumption of homogeneity of variance between different groups seems satisfied for the application of one way ANOVA.
The main measure of variation in central tendency is mean cognitive flexibility score between the grades. I use one way ANOVA to test this. Consider the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference between the main cognitive flexibility score between Grade 2, 4, 6 and 8. This is tested against and alternative hypothesis that at least one of the main cognitive flexibility score between Grade 2, 4, 6 and 8 differ significantly.
It is preferred to use one way ANOVA and then apply Post Hoc analysis to test which pair differs significantly.
