Introduction
Background of the Research
Vulnerability makes adults physically and mentally inefficient and undermines independency, gradually making them dependent on family members or care staffs, who provide care. In residential homes, as mentioned by Fernandez-Mayoralas et al. (2015), adults spend their time as the family members get involved in daily life, unable to provide time to them.
There have been many researchers conducted, in which shows had shed light on the care techniques in the context of mental and physical care, however, as argued by Elias (2018), in terms of emotional care there have not been much research done. In the proposed, study the researcher aims at discussing the issue of loneliness felt by adults in residential care.
Research Problem
Due the hefty time consumption in professional life, the younger generation are unable to provide proper care to their vulnerable adults at home, including elders, physically and mentally challenged people, making them reliant on residential care, and loneliness at residential care is making them feel lonely (de Souto Barreto et al., 2016). The loneliness of the adults at residential care is making them feel detached from their families, which is affecting their mental health and zeal of living.
The modern lifestyle of majority of people is making the numbers of vulnerable adults seeking residential care, increase, which is making the issue of loneliness a serious problem at hand (Elias, Neville & Scott, 2015). The proposed research will shed light on the reasons that lead to the development of the feeling of loneliness among adults living in residential care homes.
Aim
Research Aim
The research aims at identifying the reasons that lead to loneliness amongst adults in residential care and offer ways to mitigate their issues.
Research Question

The care staffs in most residential homes give preference to safety of health over personal preference of the adults persons, which often cause restrain of wills, making them dominated at time. As stated by Hafford‐Letchfield, Simpson, Willis and Almack (2018), as residential care homes provide care in long-term, the focus remains of improving the health of the vulnerable adults by keeping them abide a fixed routine, often requiring force to apply them.
Impact of the Issue of Loneliness on Adults living in Residential Care
In residential care homes, adults spend significant amount of time, where care staffs provide the primary care as the members of the family remain engaged in their career, managing very little time for their elder. (2018), as vulnerable adults at residential care do not get the chance of seeing their family and friends, the feel socially isolated, making them mentally depress, hampering their mental state.
Every adult person, staying in residential homes have limited access to physical activity, food and...
