Unity : The harmonious elements of this painting that contributes to the unity
of it is the use of the colours that complement each other.
Variety : There is no prominent element of variety in the painting.
Balance : The painting is asymmetrical due to the presence of the flowers and the bird on one side and the blue shading on the other.
Emphasis : The various shapes of the cherry blossoms and their white colour draws the most attention in the painting.
Directional forces : The directional force of the painting makes the viewer look down the cherry blossoms where one can see the Bullfinch.
Contrast : The presence of white cherry blossoms on a medium blue background creates a subtle contrast in the painting.
Repetition and rhythm : The artist has portrayed repetition and in the picture through the cherry blossoms of different sizes.
