(max 2 pages) The Project Status Report is a tool used throughout the life of a project to supply information on how the project is proceeding. The report is a vital communication tool aimed at the sponsor/steering committee. The report is based on the Monthly Project Report that Kerzner (2013) displays in figure 15-24 page 786. Please complete the report for the case study (Barwon Health Infrastructure) provided within the Assessments section in the Moodle. Guidance boxes like this should be deleted when you have finished with the contents: position the cursor on the border, left click when a cross appears and press delete EAC. The estimate at completion (EAC) is the expected total cost of the completing all work expressed as the sum of the actual costs to date and the estimate to complete (see PMBOK 2013 p224 Table 7-1). Cost summary. Summarise the impact of the costs on the project and whether there is a need to redefine the risks (see PMBOK chapter 11). Forecast Completion Date A Forecast Completion Date is derived from the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and forecasts the end date of the project (see AS 4817-2006 pp.13-15 section 2.3.2). State whether re-baselining is required and the impact. Milestone. Milestones are an event on a schedule which marks the completion of a key activity (Managing PRINCE2 (2009) p. 70-71). Event Report. Major events that the stakeholders should be made aware of are reported here (see risk management procedures 8.3.5 in Managing PRINCE2 (2009). The Project Controls is a tool used to explain to the stakeholders of a project how the goals and objectives of the project will be met and important items or deliverables will be captured, managed and not lost by the project. The report is a vital communication tool that is used as the basis for anticipating and averting problems through the proper corrective actions. Controls are established and then activated either by an event occurring or a timeframe being met. Outputs are generated as a consequence that then becomes controllable items managed by the project team. These items are classified as deliverables, configuration items, project status accounts, daily logs, and issue items. Communication between the project team and the project board or change authority is made through the control outputs and authorisations or advice managed. The report is based on the contents of Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 (2009), A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) 5th Edition (2013) and Kerzner Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling and Controlling (2013). South West Alliance of Regional Health (SWARH) was born from this joint venture agreement, resulting in an amalgamation of the alliance members’ ICT departments under a unified management team. This alliance covers an area of approximately 60,000 sq. kilometres connecting all public acute hospitals and associated health services in a region extending from west of Melbourne to the South Australian Border. SWARH has built a network connecting 16 member and 27 customer organisations encompassing approximately 180 individual sites across South West Victoria. This connectivity is achieved using a combination of fibre, copper and microwave networking technologies. SWARH’s model is a private cloud based service where services are primarily delivered from central data centres. In addition to this, the virtualisation of services (servers, storage and workstations) within its core data centres is a primary focus. The centralized cloud model has increased the dependency on the underlying WAN infrastructure which delivers services from the data centres to the 16 member and 27 customer organisations. The SWARH’s DCs deliver more than 300 applications of which more than 20 are critical clinical applications. The Opportunity On behalf of SWARH, Barwon Health is seeking responses to this Request for Proposal (RFP) RFP_2017-1014 for the provision of Storage and Compute. Barwon Health’s specific requirements in relation to the Goods and/or Services are set out in RFP Part B of this Specification. In issuing this RFP, Barwon Health seeks to identify a Vendor who is: 1. able to provide the Goods and/or Services required by Barwon Health in the manner set out in the Specification of either Section A, B or C. For example, Respondents can address all 3 sections of the requirements or any combination; 2. able to demonstrate a commitment and ability to working in collaboration with Barwon Health over the term of any agreed contractual period to continuously seek improvements in value, efficiency and productivity in connection with the provision of the Goods and/or Services; and 3. prepared to work with Barwon Health to continue to identify opportunities for improvement
