Leadership styles evaluation
Regarding the case study of Johnson & Johnson Furniture Co., Limited. It’s significant to evaluate the finest leadership style that can meet the three objectives of the business. Thus, like critical thinking, I want to describe five types of leaders and use their instances to verify the best choice for achieving the goals of J & J Furniture Limited. Five leadership styles are defined in the following ways:
The Laissez-Faire Leader (LFL)
The LFZ lacks direct management of workers and cannot provide a regular response to employees under its supervision. An obvious example of this manager is a typical supervisor, who allows workers to complete their work with no supervision ("What is Laissez-Faire Leadership? How Autonomy Can Drive Success", 2018). This may be a very serious issue; (Bergen & Bressler, 2014) say that without good leadership, worker productivity will be compromised. People who feel that they are not valued will not work harder than those who know their occupation is valued.
The Autocrat
The authoritarian leadership style enables executives to make some decisions independently without the input of the others. Therefore, authoritarian leaders often create a stressful working environment. Workers may not have to worry about finishing business functions for better results, but want to avoid being punished by managers and leaders.
The Participative Leader
This is a famous democratic leader. Participatory leadership considers the input of every worker, nevertheless, the duty for making the last decision is the task completed by participatory leadership. (Aramovich & Blankenship, 2020) emphasized that in participatory leadership, employees will get relevant information about company issues, and the majority of votes will determine the way the business will take action.
The Transactional Leader
Managers who use transactional leadership styles will accept certain responsibilities to execute as well as provide rewards and penalties to members of the team depend on performance outcomes (Lang et al., 2014). Such as, bank managers often exert pressure on employees to achieve many goals.
The Transformational Leader
Transformational leadership is highly relying on communication between management and senior management to attain the goal. Leaders maintain worker motivation moreover improve efficiency and productivity throughout the communication or high visibility. An obvious instance of this kind of leadership is managers who are starting to work for industries in crisis who require to making real changes in their processes. After considering five leadership styles furthermore understanding the characteristics of every leader, I suggest adopting participatory leadership in the research (Lang et al., 2014). Well, I think this company's goal is to make a major change, so that the company's name is recognized as a sustainable company, and it uses the latest technological ingredients in its production process.
Part 1
(Lang et al., 2014) describes the present techniques and tools to influence the project group. In the case of J&J Furniture Ltd, said tools would be the following:
Delegation
Delegation is a very useful method within a team. To apply it to case studies, project managers can evaluate or find better leaders in the association to delegate significant activities that they can accomplish by small groups (Indelicato, 2007). Such as, a group can be responsible for evaluating the impact of using transportation as a new product delivery method.
Motivation
Leaders can motivate workers in different ways, but the most...
