This module will provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to manage their own personal and professional development which is essential for all graduates to improve employability and continue the process of lifelong learning. The module will empower learners to manage and lead others within the Health and Social Care sector exploring areas such as professional supervision and effective delegation. The module will provide an in-depth insight to quality assurance and service improvement and how this can be used to constantly evaluate and improve standards of care Students are asked to complete the following to be able to demonstrate the components of the module learning outcomes in the following ways. Two reflections based on either theoretical or vocational practice (A reflective model will be used to identify areas for improvement) A detailed CPD plan for the first 12 months following successful graduation A Training Needs Analysis for staff within your workplace or setting. Two examples of Appraisals undertaken in the workplace identifying areas for development. Identifying your personal management style and positive and negative effects on the multi disciplinary team. Evidence of local audits completed and action plans for change within the organisation following your findings. A detailed quality review of the organisation to include quality indicators such as planning, records of staff meetings, observations, appraisal meetings, Ofsted, Care Standards, relevant legislation Evidence of a strategy used to implement a Service Improvement Initiative which will include an evaluation of your results. Module Learning Outcomes: 1. Examine methods for self management 2. Explore effective leadership and management of others within the professional environment 3. Analyse practices and procedures that ensure the effective organisation of services within a Health and Social Care environment. 4.
