In organization management and business intelligence, these three terms are most common. However, there are some basic differences between the three key terms used in running the business of an organization. Data is the raw information of an organization, which is drawn from various calculations. These sets of data are not filtered and refined. Data is used for the purpose of analysis (Kalliomaki). These data are required to be arranged, further analyzed and filtered. Then it becomes information. The data are the facts that are recorded through interpretation. These data are captured in symbols, numerical or through signals.
The sets of data, when refined and filtered, are called information. The sets of information are used for the purpose of further analysis and research. This information can be used several times. They are relevant to the analysis and are implied for making important decisions. They can be extracted from the recent data or from the old sources of data (Su and Tang). They help in decision-making processes and solving the problems relevant to the business....
