Hi Team! All of us know that brain is called as; the “Master” of our body so, would it not
be interesting to have a tour to this most complex organ? If yes, then let’s begin it. Brain controls
thought pattern, emotions, movements and dreams etc functions and it has been divided into
many parts via nature to control all of these activities in a specific manner. It appears like an
uneven gray globule and may be divided into three major parts: Fore Brain, Mid Brain and Hind
Brain.
Fore Brain
The forebrain may be termed as; the largest part of the brain which is composed of
Cerebrum, Thalamus, Hypothalamus and the Limbic system.
1. Cerebrum can be separated into two cerebral hemispheres which remain connected
through Corpus callosum. Grey matter forms the surface of each hemisphere which is also
known as the cerebral cortex. This region is highly folded so that, its surface area might be
increased. It regulates awareness, memory and other cognitive functions. Underneath the cortex
we might observe white matter which contains numerous nuclei that are also known as; basal
nuclei. These nuclei obtain information from cortex with the intention that, motor functions such
as; skeletal movements might be regulated. We may segregate each hemisphere into four main
