The network requirements are gathered from users and business requirements. The users form one of the important aspects of a successful network design. Your project is to design a network for a sports complex. Part I: Develop a questionnaire to gather requirements from users, sports complex management, and staff. What kinds of questions would you ask to better understand their environment and each group of users? Hint [Questions must also be aimed at identifying what applications, the users intend to use.] Categorise applications identified by users and devise an assessment plan of the applications for network performance. Part II Design a network as shown below in Figure 1, and perform a performance test for each set of applications as shown in following Table 1 to validate them. For the network design in Figure 1, Application Sets 1, 2, 3 and 4 in table 1, are located in LAN A, B, C and D respectively. Students should be ready with all setup and configurations before the start of the laboratory class. The tutor will ask 2-3 questions of each student to demonstrate any configuration of the setup. The demonstration from each student should not be more than 3 minutes in duration. Students should form their groups and inform their tutor in week 10 during laboratory class. Students will receive a demonstration timetable before the start of the week 11 laboratory class. 1. Introduction and network requirements for sports complex
The collection of network requirements from user, management and other staff of sport complex are considered as the most complex task of network design. The development of final network design is based on these collected requirements [1]. The points showing the network requirements which are collected from end users, management and other staff of sport complex are listed below:
1. The developed network has to execute three different application sets which further contain different applications.
2. The capacity, reliability and possible delay are different for all network application sets.
3. The implementation of two switches is required in this network design.
4. The implementation of three routers named as A, B and C is required in this network.
5. The implementation of four different LAN’s with different subnet mask is required in this network design.
6. Each LAN will have different users which are required to connect with different switches of developed LAN’s.
2. Developed questionnaire for requirement collection
The questionnaires are developed to understand the user requirements for completing any specific project [5]. These all are open ended question which requires direct interaction with end users, management and related staff members of sport complex. Thus, on bases of below developed questionnaire all requirements of this potential sport complex network can be collected. This will help network administrator and designers for making easy implementations according to end user, management and other staff requirements. The implementation of actual network after making demonstration on simulation application will help designer and network administrator. The developed questionnaires for collecting network requirements for sport complex are listed below:
1. What would be the major happening on developed network for sport complex? By defining the happenings of network, network can easily be developed.
2. What are the main encountered factors which will arise after developing this sport complex network? By knowing the main encountered factors, requirement analysis can be conducted easily for sport complex.
3. What are the main ethical issues which will arise due to development of this sport complex network? The ethical issues will help to define the role...
