Introduction
    In this era of globalization, the global market is becoming more and more competitive and multinational organizations are being tested according to the business ethics. Corporate social responsibility has come up as a way, through which most of the multinational business organizations fulfill their responsibilities towards the society. Business ethics particularly in terms of corporate social responsibility helps the business organization to be in a win-win position. It not only helps to satisfy the customers of the business but also assist to improve the brand image.
    Volkswagen’s scandal in the year 2015 highlighted the issue that such huge companies with big brand names and presence all across the globe also chose their benefit over the welfare of the entire society. As mentioned by Ewing (2017) such business organizations usually have a self-centered approach rather than having a holistic approach. To fulfill their aim and objectives such organizations may adapt unethical business processes and may take decisions that are in favor of the growth of the business.
Analysis of the Business Ethical Case
    Volkswagen has raised an alarm among many multinational organizations particularly in the auto industry. Its case highlighted in the year 2015, demonstrated the unethical behaviour of this organization. The first ethical issue observed in the case was lack of transparency in its business operations and the other one being causing harm to the environment by using unethical business practices (Blackwelder et al., 2016). The two issues have been analyzed in detail as below:
Lack of Transparency
    Businesses who have their roots into ethics have managed to develop brand image for themselves and have also managed to maintain a positive outlook in the market. Transparency in business operations is something, which is admired by both internal and external stakeholders of the business. Customers in particular expects their favorite brands in different industries to be transparent with them regarding the quality of material used and the business processes being used to produce the products.
