Prepare a ‘Media Release’ on restricting advertising of fast food to children. This should be around 300- 500 words.
The media release must summarise your ‘key messages’: clearly describe what change you would like to see. Justify why this is important. Identify how it should come about.
In preparing your media release, please use the instructions and examples provided in the Public Health Advocacy Institute of WA [PHAIWA] toolkit (2013) as a guide, see pages 49-53.
2.Prepare a letter to a Politician. You can decide if this is a local MP, or, for example, the Federal Health or Communications Minister. This should be around 300- 500 words.
The letter must also clearly summarise your ‘key messages’, in a way designed to get the attention of a politician.
Even though you are not sending the letter, you should address it to a real politician (use their name and genuine address details)
