Prepare a bibliography of children’s and adolescents’ literature that would be appropriate for a particular grade level’s classroom library. Use the school librarian, classroom teachers’ recommendations, and bibliographies from journals such as Language Arts, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, and he Reading Teacher as resources. What books would be the core of the library? What books could be added over time? Include annotations that would explain why each book was chosen. For example, which books would be useful in content area instruction? Which books would help teach leter–sound correspondence?
