Practitioner expectations. When the client is able to perceive the practitioner’s expectations, it is difficult to know whether observed changes are due to the actual intervention or the expectations of the practitioner. Example: The entire staff knew that the agency director’s expectations were that the staff would work especially hard during the agency’s evaluation, so many of the practitioners began to put in extra time at the agency.
