    Crime prevention is an important sector of law enforcement which is used to reduce the crime rates occurring in a society. These processes of crime prevention may include social development, crime prevention at the situation, prevention of crime in the community, making innovative environmental designs to prevent crimes and providing security equipment to prevent crimes. Developmental techniques like recording areas with more crime rates, putting taxations and maintaining proof resources in the crime scene can be enforced by law to prevent crimes.
    The approaches used for crime prevention are through policies, correctional homes, courts, police stations and rehabilitation centers. Each sector uses different approach in law enforcement to reduce crime rate. A rehabilitation Centre tries to improve the mental state of the criminal which induces them in committing crime. On the other hand, correctional homes help them to return back in track in their life by proper work and tasks for each day. Prevention by environmental designs includes installation of dumpsters on roads to keep it clean. If the law is violated, then a fine is applied to the person committing crime.
    The most effective approach of reducing crime is the situational crime prevention by law enforcement. This avoids the occurrence of crime at any situation due to strict surveillance. As mentioned by Alves et al., the occurrence of crime and approaches to prevent it are connected. The crime must be predicted from beforehand to prevent it. The basic reasons like unemployment and urban technologies must be removed from the society to prevent crimes. The approach of community and the environment in preventing crime must be considered to reduce the root cause of the crimes which occur.
