ICTPRG505 Build advanced user interface Student Assessment Tasks Assessment Task Instructions Carefully read the following: Ozhouse Clean is based in Melbourne and offers professional, residential cleaning services, including regular home cleans, as well as spring cleans. The company was established in 2005 and is a family business owned and operated by Nancy Anderson, who is the CEO of the company. The company currently has approximately 70 regular clients, based around Melbourne inner city. The company is unique in the area, in that it provides first-class, environmentally-friendly cleaning services, and sells NatureCare environment-friendly cleaning products. Nancy has received feedback from a number of clients and decided that a new User Interface (UI) for their website is required, and you have been contracted to build this. The interface must include: • Elements of persuasive design that encourage the user to complete the desired action, including the use of graphics and multimedia elements https://www.interaction- design.org/literature/topics/persuasive-design • Client-side validation • Functionality such as Call to Action, Search, Primary and Secondary navigation The interface must allow a user to sign in and book a service and for a user to customise a theme (or similar customisation) to provide a more personalised user experience. The UI must allow for personalisation such as retaining user profiles or retaining past searches. Complete the following activities: 1. Develop a conceptual plan and wireframe for the User Interface Review the company’s documentation: • Style Guide • List of Services Your conceptual plan should include the following: • Detail the pre-processor framework that could be used and reasons for your choice. • Describe the client-side technology that will be used. • Provide an overview of the development tools. Use the UI Conceptual Plan Template to guide your work. Create a wireframe that provides a layout of the web pages to demonstrate what interface elements will exist and the primary and secondary navigation. Your wireframe should include: • Include the layout of at least three web pages • Demonstrate elements of persuasive design • Include functionality such as Call to Action, Search, Primary and Secondary navigation • Follow interaction design patterns • Include graphics and multimedia elements https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/topics/persuasive-design https://www.interaction-design.org/literature/topics/persuasive-design ICTPRG505 Build advanced user interface Student Assessment Tasks © RTO Works 2019 Strathfield College RTO: 91223 CRICOS Provider Code: 02736K Page 2 • Follow the Ozhouse Clean style guide. 2. Send an email to the client (your assessor). The text of the email should be in grammatically correct English, written in an appropriate (polite, business-like) style. It should introduce and summarise the contents of the attachment and seek their feedback. The email text should also ask the client for a meeting to discuss your plan. Attach your UI Conceptual Plan and Wireframe to the email. 3. Meet with the client to discuss the UI Conceptual Plan. You are required to meet with the client to discuss the User Interface conceptual plan that you have written and the wireframe that you have developed. Take notes on changes that you will have to make to your plan. During the meeting, you are required to demonstrate effective communication skills including: • Speaking clearly and concisely • Using non-verbal communication to assist with understanding • Asking questions to identify required information • Responding to questions as required • Using active listening techniques to confirm understanding 4. Review the conceptual plan for the User Interface Revise your UI Conceptual Plan and your Wireframe to reflect the feedback that you have received from the client. Save these versions as Revised UI Concept Plan and Revised Wireframe. 5. Send an email to the client (your assessor). The text of the email should be in grammatically correct English, written in an appropriate (polite, business-like) style. It should introduce and summarise the contents of the attachment and seek their feedback and approval to move forward with the project. Attach your Revised UI Conceptual Plan and Revised Wireframe to the email. Create a prototype website interface with at least three pages. The UI that you create must: • Allow a user to sign in and book a service • Include the ability for customisation for a personalised theme (or similar) • Must remember a user’s preferences. • Include graphics and multimedia elements • Follow interaction design patterns • Include client-side validation 7. Present your prototype to your trainer/assessor. You will need to login to the software you used to develop the prototype or provide a simulation of the prototype on a device. Demonstrate the functions as set out in the previous activity. Following the demonstration, you will need to submit the files/link/or screen shots showing the development. The submission must be in a format that can be assessed by the trainer/assessor. If you will be submitting screen shots, take these during the demonstration as appropriate. During the presentation, you are required to demonstrate effective communication skills including: • Speaking clearly and concisely • Using non-verbal communication to assist with understanding • Asking questions to identify required information • Responding to questions as required • Using active listening techniques to confirm understanding 8. Dear Ozhouse Cleaning,
I and my team are constantly working on the new website which you want to get developed. my
team has already gone through all the requirements and services of your website and finalised about the pre-processors and development tools which will use for the website. We've also created few wire frames which can be used as the base to develop the website pages.
Now I would like to hear your thoughts about the development of the website and which areas needs improvement. It would be very beneficial for us to hear about your opinions which are honest and sincere as for the professional impressions. I'm ready to listen all you have in the offer and consideration.
I have already attached the conceptual plan for the website. To demonstrate about this feedback I will follow up with you and communicate about the actions which can help us to improve our performance and any new requirements which needs to be added into the website.
Thank you
