You should use the papers and links above AND you should look for additional papers that 1) these papers have cited and 2) have cited Hull et al. (2020) or Chiarenza et al. (2020). Do the authors clearly state a hypothesis to be tested? 2) What kind of approach (materials and methods) did the authors use to answer that question (briefly describe the study)? Is the methodology appropriate for the research question? 3) What were the general findings? What evidence do the authors provide to support their view? Do the authors make valid interpretations of the data? 4) What is the significance and relevance of the article? Is the evidence sufficient for the conclusions? You can also ask: 5) Why do you think that this study was valuable (or not)? Do you believe that the authors have proved/supported their point? Is there anything you didn’t understand in the paper? What, if anything, might the authors have done to improve their work? What is the logical next step in their research? What questions would you address next? How could you extend the study? These two papers are quite technical and not easy to read. Read the abstracts and the introductions. Then find paragraphs in the discussion, conclusion, or throughout the papers that are easier to digest and read those. Even doing this, it will still be difficult to understand everything. That’s ok.
