SUMMARY
    Gender stratification is the term, which is used interchangeably with gender inequality it generally refers to the social ranking in which the men generally inhibit higher status and rank in a society in comparison to the women. It also focuses considerably on the gender inequality. Patriarchy is also a term, which is quite relatable to the stratification it eventually points to the system of the society where the eldest male of the society is known as the head of the family, and the whole descent is addressed through the male line. The sociologists refer the patriarchy as a social product rather than an outcome of differences between the gender and they believe on the fact that the gender roles in a society affect the power differential (Geist et al.).
    The gender roles are defined in the family also with a different prospective where the boys are allowed to take their own decisions and less restrictions are imposed on them but in the case of girl child they are not given full freedom and there are certain restrictions also imposed on them.
