The vineyard has the opportunity to undertake a continuous improvement project that will ensure the viability of the site through increased production, quality and financial profit. The site is increasingly finding the environment in which it operates progressively more competitive, the strategic alignment of this project with the organisations objectives, will allow the site to remain economical and operate more effectively against our rivals. “Integrated strategic change – is a deliberate, co-ordinated process that leads gradually or radically to systemic realignments between the environment and a firm’s strategic orientation” (Waddell, Cummings, & Worley, 2007, p351) Additionally this will allow for benchmarking in relation to the project schedule and cost, which the organisation could utilise across similar sites, and give a better understanding of the quality achievable from this type of project (Schwalbe, 2006). The following report shows the decline in both production and quality from this block and the projected outcome of re-establishing the vines to full production. Due to the current industry situation where low quality fruit is over supplied, the site management believes now is the best time to proceed with this project to fully optimise the prospect of the block returning to full production by the 20xx vintage. All costs associated with the project will be undertaken within the xxx operating budget, and no allowance has been made for additional capital input. The existing management has extensive experience in this type of project, having managed a xxx project previously and expectations are for a successful conclusion. The duration of this project while relatively short, includes a major labour component and comparatively low resources. This will allow for increased quality control over the new foliage manipulation, increasing the prospect of a successful outcome.
