Week 4 Assignment Please answer the questions below (short answers) and upload this document, as your Week 4 assignment. We have spent a great deal talking about the importance of roles in Agile. We had a detailed overview in Weeks 1 and 2 and did a more detailed dive in Week 4 on the three important and required roles of Agile – The Product Owner, ScrumMaster, and Development Team. A major foreign exchange market broker Forex Brokers (FB) wants to produce an additional feature for their trading platform. They have contracted Pyramid Group Consulting (PCG) who will provide the ScrumMaster and Development team to perform the work. The additional piece of functionality will allow the trading platform software to take advantage of the high-speed data pipeline and translate currency prices more quickly and with greater precision. After the feature is complete the FOREX trading platform will now contain currency quotes such as EUR/USD from the fourth decimal place to the fifth decimal place pricing in the forex market. For example, from 1.1459 to 1.14596 There are some advantages to pricing to the fifth decimal place in the forex market, in that: 1. Trading to the fifth decimal place can reduce the difference between the ask and bid price of a currency pair 2. Trading to the fifth decimal place provides better liquidity and execution for clients 3. Brokers can allow for tighter spreads and more accurate price execution. This provides FB with a distinct competitive advantage over brokerages with 4 decimal places. In addition to the precision, the data will flow much faster to the brokerage for displaying on the trading platform. The feature will be built in 3 Sprints of 3 weeks each. We are following a traditional “Outsourced Development” meaning the product owner is a representative from the company paying for the solution and receiving the benefits (FB). You have been assigned as the ScrumMaster from PCG for this engagement and you will be coaching Development team and working closely with the FB Product Owner/PM (same person). 1. Take a look at the Scrum activities and artifacts framework we have been following. Name three activities that PM/PO is REQUIRED to attend. Name ONE Inspect and Adapt activity that we will NOT expect the PM/PO to attend because it is catered for the development team to talk about what was accomplished and what obstacles are in the way. Name ONE other person/group (there are several) you will need to work closely with to ensure the feature will be successful. (5 pts) 2. You will be working closely with the PM/PO at FB to balance the needs of their requirements and the work of the developers. Since we are looking at 3-week sprints, there are 15 days in a Sprint (45 days total). Name which TWO days within the Sprints will you have the most interactions with the PM/PO. On which days in the Sprint will you, the ScrumMaster, be working the MOST on removing obstacles and impediments. Please state your answer using the Day #, for Example Day 5 and Day 7 or Days 1-10. Name a tool that can be used for estimating the work hours for the development team. What happens if two people from the seven-person team have different hours than the rest of the group? (5 pts) 3. Which group will the developers be working closely with throughout the Sprint to ensure acceptance criteria such as user acceptance and system integration is correctly taking place. See the release cycle figure below for clues. Name TWO (there are a few) important characteristics of a Sprint team that will contribute to this successful project. Several members of the development team are complaining they are lacking the proper resources, namely laptops with low processing, to perform coding in a timely manner. Who is the best person to address this impediment? Which inspect and adapt activity can we use is a good forum to bring up this issue in order to document lessons learned and how we can perform better next time? (5 pts)
