The survey is an attempt to quantify and measure the attitude of people towards the people
having HIV. Participants were asked to choose an answer which indicates the degree to which
they agree for the given statement. First response is given one number and forth response is
given four numbers. And question marked * will have first option as 4 marks and last option as
one mark.
It’s a Likert scale type measure to quantily a qualitative quantity that is apttitude.
As an excellent attempt to standardize the responses for all questions, scores of question having
positive tone are reversed while adding the scores for all fifteen questions.
There are many questions one try to investigate from this survey such as:
1) Research question 1: Does attitude towards people with HIV vary for male female
participants?
We would like to know if male or female participants have different attitude towards
people with HIV. It may be possible that gender has a significant effect on scores of
participants. How we test it? We can plot score for male and female and male participants
in a bar diagram and see if difference is there. We can use t-test for difference of means
to test if average score is different for male and female participants. As here variance for
both male and female is not given.
