4 Assignment 3: Purpose of the Study and Research Questions by Paul Solomon RES 9300 Methods of Inquiry Nova Southeastern University July 25, 2021 Table of Contents Purpose of the Study3 Research Questions4 References7 Purpose of the Study The purpose statement should give a concise and accurate summary of the study's overarching goal (Rashid, Rashid, Warraich, Sabir & Waseem, 2019). The purpose of the study is to investigate the agreement and differentiating proof of the best communication technique that an organization may use. A working knowledge of various communication designs as well as information on the benefits of communication in an organization (Syakur, Susilo, Wike & Ahmadi, 2020). This research will also look at how different management styles and communication influences an organization's advantages, drawbacks, problems, and outcomes for job execution. The primary challenges impacting management are related to the Communication Strategies used, distributes, and public archives. That raises the question: what are the consequences of beautiful and powerless communication? This survey aims to promote these effects in relation to references discovered in previous research and to provide an understanding of them. Most of this evaluation is devoted to communication as a problem of initiative.Comment by Ashley Russom: This is confusing. Examining diverse leadership messages with a focus on communication as a critical issue, as well as additional turn of events and a conclusion or summary, should be discussed. The major subject will examine in depth the interchanges directives used in organizations, communication structures, the value of, and difficulties encountered in the use of internal interchanges procedures in a company. The second subject concerns authority styles and discernments, as well as the communication and board methods used by most organizations. This part aims to demonstrate the advantages of good management. The survey's third section focuses on the various benefits and drawbacks of excellent inner communication within firms, drawing from public archives to highlight the significance of communication to businesses. Research Questions What was the purpose of communication and what was the context?Comment by Ashley Russom: These are not research questions. Think in broader terms. Look at these examples.Descriptive Question (Quantitative)- Use the following script: How frequently do (participants) (variable) at (research site)? Application: How frequently do African Americans feel isolated on college campuses? Relationship Question (Quantitative)- Script: How does (independent variable) relate to (dependent variable) for (participants) at (research site)? Application: How do feelings of isolation relate to (or influence) the ethnic identity of African Americans in the United States? Comparison Question (Quantitative)- Script: How does (group 1) differ from (group 2) in terms of (dependent variable) for the (participants) at (research site)? Application: How do African Americans and Euro Americans compare in their perceptions of ethnic identity?Central Question (Qualitative)- Script: What is (central phenomenon) for (participants) at (research site)? Application: What is creativity for five students at Roosevelt High School?**Please Note: These are simply suggestions for the types of research questions you can have; Students should NOT submit one of each type of question. The type of question(s) you use depends entirely on your research problem and purpose statement. The primary goal of communication is to enhance communication skills and maintain a strong team connection (Lacerenza, Marlow, Tannenbaum & Salas, 2018). Another purpose for communication is to build an effective team that achieves the aim and objectives. Furthermore, we aim to create a stress-free and conflict-free team where each individual member can fulfill the work of organizing in an efficient manner. Furthermore, we openly interact in front of team members, which may be a result of an organization's growing efficient team. To have an open discussion with team members about their allocated task to achieve the goal. Who were the people who were important in the context of the communication? The persons who were relevant to the communication setting were the workers of the organization. Because the primary goal of communication is to motivate many people to form a cohesive team inside a company. As a result, it is reasonable to conclude that forming an efficient team is entirely dependent on the employees; without workers, this is impossible. As a result, individuals or workers may be critical to the communication environment. What environmental and human variables could have influenced the communication's success? Major elements that have a direct influence on communication success include environmental and human characteristics. People have no influence over environmental variables, but they can successfully eliminate or minimize personal factors. Perceptual, linguistic, emotional, physical, and cultural obstacles are all human variables that influence communication. Furthermore, environmental variables such as noise, temperature, and communication location obstruct a leader's ability to communicate effectively in an organization (Shobe, 2018). What was the communication's desired result? The goal is to improve various aspects of communication, including motivating many employees, increasing job happiness, and improving interpersonal skills. Personality development, increased confidence, and improved writing and vocal communication abilities are among the others. In addition, consider if such elements are necessary for forming an efficient team in a company. What communication options were available? There are several important techniques for communicating with team members on a certain issue, including spoken, written, and oral communication. In terms of verbal communication, we have used critical conversation and storytelling to connect with our team in words. Social media and email were also used to supplement printed communication. As a result, such approaches might be considered necessary for effective communication. What possible obstacles did you find? What can be done to lessen their impact? Language obstacles, cultural differences, attention issues, physical impairments, emotional barriers, and different perception barriers are all examples of communication difficulties that may arise throughout the communication process. Furthermore, such circumstances have a direct impact on communication and play a significant part in communication failure. At the same time, we have looked at a variety of techniques that can help to effectively reduce communication obstacles. These include determining employee language, creating a peaceful and clean communication environment, interacting with employees throughout the segment, and learning about employee culture. Communication
(a) Potential participants: Communication can be in various forms like talking, verbal, non-verbal, writing, visual, electronic communication. It is an essential part and also important in business where people meet with each other (Encar
ta, 2005). Communication is an art and should be exercised at the workplace for achieving better outputs and successfully achieve goals of the organization. The major area where the communication gap occurs is between supervisors and the subordinates of an organization. This data was collected from the leaders of an organization working who were controlling the projects in a call centre as well as maintaining the records of the subordinates. The participants consisted of males and females with experience of 6 weeks to 16 years and working in various departments within the organization. The participants were also informed that the survey will be performed face to face as well as via conversation. The replies that will be provided will remain confidential. This was a process to recognise each person’s communication skills which can have an impact on both personal and organization efficiency (Brun, 2010; Summers, 2010). Through this research study it was analysed that one of the inhibiting forces to organizational efficiency is poor communication (Lutgen-Sandvik, 2010). The process of communication is when there is a sender and receiver where the sender sends the communication message through words and symbols in order to forward the requisite information to the receiver. Therefore, the sender is a person who desires to convey an idea or concept to others. The sender may be a person or a department who originates the message. Similarly in this organization it’s the leaders who wants to communicates to their subordinates the information they want to achieve the desired organizational objectives. But, through this analysis we will try to research if the communication process is bringing positive results or there are miscommunications due to certain barriers. This can be analysed through the feedback the receiver gives to the sender. Hence, feedback is the destination’s reaction to the message (Certo, 1992)
(b) Sampling procedures: The sampling process was done through face-to-face interviews and through conversations. The survey forms were handed over to 111 subordinates who were mainly customer service representatives and leaders. They were employed within the organization for less than a year to sixteen years. There was a total of 97...
