Please read this very recent news story(Links to an external site.)about how the citizens of Cook County forced their Sheriff's office to stop using their gang database, and eventually destroy it. Then answer the questions below in reference to the article in the link.
Should communities be able to dictate what the police in their neighborhoods do?
Also, do you agree with Cook County's ban on the sheriff's gang file?
Finally, if the ban is good, why are other police agencies in IL allowed to keep their gang file? If the ban is bad, why is the sheriff complying with the board of commissioners?
