Concept of a Man-In-Middle-Attack
Introduction
A man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack is a
kind of cybersecurity attacks in which an attacker secretly adds their self into a communication among two users, then attacker monitors and gains access to user data by unauthorized way. Hackers do MITM attacks to harm the user data, theft login details or sensitive data, spy on the victim, or corrupt data. A man-in-the-middle attack allows an attacker to stop, send and receive data which is for someone else and that data is not supposed to be disclosed or transferred to anyone or external persons or party. MITM attacks cause so much harm in real time processing of user transactions or data transfer between two parties.

In above figure 1, an attacker adds their self in communication between client and server. An attacker can do anything he/she wants such as insert false data, modify data, corrupt data etc. between two parties.
