CLASSIFICATION of FOOTINGS
There exist five different types of footings, that is, spread or isolated footing, strap footing, combined footing, strip footing, and mat footing. I have a deal with three footing types in my previous job experience. The site that we got for the construction has strap footing, strip footing, and mat footing.
The spread or isolated footings is a slab in circular, square or the rectangular form with the uniform thickness. When the footing is required to provide support to the single column, it is known as isolated footing (Lavasan & Ghazavi, 2012).
