Please provide a rationale for each of these
1. Ensure that the operator wears a gown, gloves and face and eye mask because there is a high chance the patient might vomit.
2. NG tubes should not be used in patients with severe facial trauma as it can cause intracranial insertion and cause complications.
3. Consider the breathing status of a patient. If there is any change in breathing status immediately remove tube.
4. See that the patient is positioned upright to ensure a correct neck head alignment.
5. Be careful as to not to come in contact with patient blood or body fluids.
