The narrator of the story Things Fall Apart is an anonymous person, who slowly gathers sympathy towards the residents of the Umuofia. The narrator in the entire story had focused on the life of the main character Okonkwo, as to how his life transformed from being the hard-working person with no sign of weakness and also the consequent events where he used to beat his family, become the guardian of Ikemefuna and then killed him further on. The narrator then further focused on the later stages of his life and also tried to focus that even after living in exile for seven years, his behavior or attitude had not changed at all, however, being a warrior by nature, the protest against the white government did continue from Okonkwo's side. Apart from the character of Okonkwo, the other different characters of the story who have their contribution towards the revolution against the white government are Nwoye, who is the son of Okonkwo, who after getting repeatedly beaten up by his father, left home to adopt the Christianity religion, which Okonkwo viewed as a betrayal, and that also triggered war against the white government. The next significant character is Ikemefuna, who is a boy from the Mbaino tribe. Since his father had murdered an Umuofia man's wife, therefore he was put under the custody of Okonkwo, who was later killed by Okonkwo by the decision of Umuofia authorities.
